Successor Negotiations Are Underway: Negotiations Survey Coming Soon
Sep 04, 2026

United Faculty has begun preparation for successor negotiations. The current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires June 30, 2027, which means this fall marks the start of the process that will produce the contract governing faculty compensation, workload, benefits, rights, and working conditions for the years ahead.

Under UF's bylaws, this process follows a defined structure: the Negotiating Team surveys the membership, Representative Council establishes bargaining priorities and approves the initial proposal, and the bargaining team carries those priorities to the District.

Negotiations Survey — coming soon

In the coming weeks, every member will receive UF's negotiations survey. This is the formal starting point for bargaining priorities and the most direct way for members to shape the next contract.

The survey will ask what is working, what is not, and what faculty are experiencing across Cypress, Fullerton, and NOCE. Compensation will be central, but the survey reaches across the full agreement — workload, leaves, evaluation procedures, and every other article subject to negotiation.

Survey results will inform the priorities Representative Council considers and approves before the bargaining team carries them to the table. This is intended to be a member-driven contract, and the survey is the mechanism that makes it one.

Bargaining updates will be posted here after every negotiations session, consistent with UF's standard reporting.
