Successor Negotiations Open: UF Begins Preparing for the Next Contract
Sep 04, 2026

United Faculty has entered the preparation phase for successor negotiations. The current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires June 30, 2027, which means the work of shaping the next contract (covering compensation, workload, benefits, rights, and working conditions) begins now.

Under UF's bylaws, this process moves through a defined structure: the Negotiating Team surveys the membership, Representative Council establishes bargaining priorities and approves the initial proposal, and the bargaining team carries those priorities to the District.

The Negotiations Survey

In the coming weeks, every member will receive UF's negotiations survey. Completing it is the first and most direct way to shape the next contract. UF is asking what is working, what is not, and what faculty are experiencing across Cypress, Fullerton, and NOCE. Compensation will be central, but the survey reaches across the full agreement.

This is designed to be a member-driven contract, and the survey is the mechanism that makes it one.

United Faculty will share timeline and process updates as negotiations move forward, consistent with the bargaining update cadence members can expect after every session.
