The 2024–2027 Contract and the 25/26 Salary Contingency
Sep 04, 2026

Faculty ratified the current Collective Bargaining Agreement in October 2024. Among other provisions, the CBA includes Salary Increase Contingency Language for both the 25/26 and 26/27 fiscal years, tying the size of the increase to revenue the District generates under the State's Student-Centered Funding Formula (SCFF).

The contingency language: if the District receives SCFF revenue in excess of $262,433,892 for FY 2025–2026, the District provides 23.58% of the additional revenue as a one-time payment using the State Chancellor's Office available revenue calculation, with the equivalent amount converted to a percentage increase added to the 2026–2027 Regular and Contract Faculty Salary Schedules.

Final calculation confirmed

The initial June state report (P2) produced a smaller payment than anticipated. Several weeks later, the State Chancellor's Office issued an Early R1 recalculation that substantially increased the District's recognized available revenue, and the District recalculated the faculty adjustment upward as a result.

The final calculation for full-time faculty:

  • 2.12% on-schedule salary increase for 2026–27, effective on-schedule and moving forward
  • $2,489.00 one-time off-schedule payment per full-time faculty member

These figures replace the earlier preliminary estimates published when the P2 report first came in. The STRS adjustment and payment were reflected in the August 31 paycheck, subject to Board approval and payroll processing. Faculty who raised questions about their PERS status will see both the payment and the on-schedule adjustment in their September 10 paycheck instead.

Faculty can review these figures directly through the Employee Information System (EIS), accessible from the Faculty Dashboard on MyGateway.

A UF-produced Contingency Payment Explainer walking through the full calculation - from P2, to the Early R1 recalculation, to the final adjustment — is available in the Documents Library.

Lessons for the next contract

This process, a preliminary report followed by a substantially different recalculation weeks later, is informing UF's approach heading into successor negotiations. Faculty compensation should be understandable, predictable, and insulated as much as possible from complex state accounting mechanisms that can shift significantly between reports.
